Corneal pachymetry is the process of measuring The thickness of the cornea. A pachymeter is a medical device used to measure the thickness of the eye's cornea. It is used to perform corneal pachymetry prior to LASIK surgery, for Keratoconus screening, LRI surgery and is useful in screening for patients suspected of developing glaucoma among other uses.

When diagnosing various eye problems, including glaucoma, cataracts and ocular tumors, Ultrasound Pachymetry allows us to better visualize problems you are experiencing and let you better prescribe a course of treatment

•  When measuring the pressure of the eye for glaucoma, many measurements are inaccurate because the front surface of the eye, or the cornea, is thicker or thinner than normal.
• Pachymetry, or the measurement of the thickness of the cornea is an integral part of the Glaucoma examination.
• Thin corneas alone, regardless of the eye pressure, have also been found much more often in people with glaucoma.
